Emotions are the connective tissue of the world—the basis of all our human relations. Emotions are very important building blocks during the time of our upbringing. Healthy attachment processes are based on a healthy relationship between parents and their children, and that gives the child the possibility to learn to regulate his her emotions in relation.
An appropriate emotional environment gives us the chance to develop a nervous system that can regulate its activation levels and emotional intensities in relation, which means we do not have to withdraw from the relational space but we can bring ourselves fully into that space.
Emotions need a home in our physical bodies. They are not supposed to swirl around and keep us busy longer than needed but they are supposed—like a wave—to rise in intensity, to be experienced and felt, and then to ebb down again and leave the nervous system clear for the next experience.
Often we carry deeper emotional wounds, conditioning, or trauma that makes our emotional experience fragmented and disproportionate.
Emotions are often seen as the part in us that blocks us or hinders us from doing what we want to do. But in fact many people just know an emotional fragmentation, and therefore they claim that emotional experiences are hindrances in their lives.
Emotions are the color within the core TV. Emotions make the world meaningful, deep, and heartfelt, and enable us to care—which is such an important function in our world today.
Our emotions are the basis for empathy. Through our open emotional capacity we can resonate with other people‘s emotional states. That is the basis of human understanding. The fact that we live in a world where the rational function has become a bride or compensation makes it often seem stuck. Reclaiming our deepest emotional selves is very necessary if we want to live a deep and meaningful and joyful life.
